There is a lot of interesting speed tech here that isn't immediately apparent and I find very engaging to talk about and explain. Someone watching the run is for sure to remember it, just for how strange the dialogue and events in the game are, and showcasing it being played in a speed context provides a recipe for a thrilling run, given that the RNG for the final boss can vary from a few seconds to forty-plus! Dan Salvato	Yoshi's Story	I've been speedrunning Yoshi's Story exclusively for 11 years. All Melons is the "100%" category of the game that is unmatched in its ruthlessness. To execute, it requires a second-nature understanding of Yoshi's many action states and physics quirks. Some levels are pure execution, while others have major skips made possible by manipulating Yoshi's physics beyond Nintendo's intentions. Allegro	Wild Woody	He's a goofy pencil with attitude! This largely forgotten, janky, and weird platformer from the 90's is the perfect concoction for the Silly Games block! Woody will traverse 6 different worlds after the curse of a totem pole splits the universe into pieces.....all while bopping to an absolutely quirky soundtrack composed by a former Guns n' Roses guitarist. Spirialis	Void Stranger	Void Stranger is a Sokoban-style puzzle game that allows the player to pick up and place tiles, with tons of meta-puzzles to solve and secrets to find. This run features very fast movement, clever use of secrets to warp around the dungeon, boss fights, beautiful cutscenes and a shmup mission. This category plays as the "hard mode" character with unique, more difficult puzzles. Possible donation incentives for the very difficult CIF fight and/or 0stRanger IF shmup mode. swordsmankirby	Virtual Boy Wario Land	VBWL, widely considered to be the finest game on the VB library, exploits the console's 3D capabilities by having Wario bounce between the foreground and background. Like in the original Wario Land, Wario is powered up by various hats that allow him to crash through obstacles and fly through stages. The 100% category requires picking up all of the treasures and features more varied use of Wario's hats. Wolsk	WannaFest 22	WannaFest 22 is widely considered to be the best 'I Wanna Be The Guy' fangame ever made, with an insane level of polish and game references that are sure to excite people from within any gaming community. Unlike most fangames, this makes use of 3D environments that have been adapted to work as 2D platforming. happybythree	Turnip Boy Robs a Bank	Two days after the events of Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, our favorite lovable root vegetable returns to ~turnip~ the heat in a roguelike heist for the ages! In classic speedrun tradition, Any% involves beating the game as quickly as possible, and Playstyle A is the "easy mode" of the game's two options. This run really shines in marathon settings, combining the charm of its predecessor with high-skill gameplay and lots of options for backup strats if RNG tries to get the better of us! PARTY MAN X	Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1, 2, 3, and 4	This year will mark Tony Hawk's Pro Skater's 25th anniversary, so it's as good a time as any to celebrate the series by playing as much of it as we can! In this run, I'll make my way through the first four games of the series, with each game's category that more or less complete the game for one skater. Rastats	TrackMania Sunrise	TrackMania Sunrise is the second installment of the TrackMania arcade racing game series. It introduces the Puzzle mode where you need to complete tracks in the editor with a selected amount and types of blocks, and then drive a fast time on the resulting track. There's also the Stunts mode with a dedicated system for various stunts and a lot of halfpipes and other ramps to jump from. KyoshiCadre	Undertale Yellow	The long awaited fan-made prequel to Undertale led by MasterSword is here. A labor of love for one of the best indie games ever created, with a soundtrack that'll knock your socks off, with boss fights that will have you glued to the screen. This run blows the game out of the water. We take advantage of an oversight with the game's storage mechanic to gain movement during cutscenes, skipping bosses, clipping through walls, all to get us to the finish line. spicee	Tomb Raider (2013)	In this game, Lara is stranded on an island, separated from her friends and works to figure out what is happening on the island as it is inhabited. However, we will be seeing hardly any of that as this run is incredibly broken, with non-stop clipping through walls, and flying around the map insanely fast with the airwalk glitch. From start to finish this is a very fast paced and flashy run that is really fun to watch.	Status: Accept Any% 1:10:00			PC
Glan	The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past	ALTTP's glitched categories have all seen massive reroutes over the past few years. All of them are quite difficult runs filled with gamebreaking tech, but Swordless is arguably the hardest one. Swordless completes all of the dungeons without ever collecting a sword, and is arguably the hardest glitched run. Not having a sword necessitates many alternate glitch setups, and also forces much more difficult and tense combat, using unique strategies and creative item use. Pr0tal	The Talos Principle 2	The Talos Principle 2 is a newly released puzzle-adventure video game developed by Croteam as a sequel to The Talos Principle (2014). In a recent update, all cutscenes have become totally skippable, bringing the time down by a whopping 30 minutes. The speedrun will be an Any% run that abuses some of the most game breaking and wacky glitches that this game has to offer, as well as using frame perfect tricks involving the photomode mechanic to skip large portions of the game. musical_daredevil	The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind	Morrowind is an RPG from 2002 with gameplay somewhat reminiscent of D&D. The any% route was shown at SGDQ23 and the All Main Quests category builds on some of the same strats of that run to complete all of the main quests in just 26 minutes. Getting a speed of 3000 (when 100 is the normal max) allows lots of opportunities to get out of bounds and commit lots of crimes before NPCs can catch us. Plus there's glitched items to skip past the slow parts and keep the action going through the whole run	Status: Accept All Main Quests 00:26:00			PC

enbee	SUSHI SOUL UNIVERSE	The sequel to 'I'm going to die if I don't eat sushi' showcased at AGDQ 2023, SSU is a wonderfully silly follow-up that adds in dimensional travel and multiverses to the already wild concept. The platforming is still just as fun, with some neat skips interspersed. The models and world design are still just as goofy. This game sliding mechanic can be a ...bit... overpowered when used with the mouse, resulting in being able to phase through walls. This doesn't make it a complete cakewalk through, there is still objectives to complete and terminators to destroy. V0oid	Super Mario RPG Remake	This long-awaited HD remake of the beloved SNES classic makes for an entirely different (and faster!) speedrun than its counterpart, in no small part due to the addition of several new battle mechanics, as well as quicker and more fluid animations. An incredibly accessible and fun, yet challenging speedgame that not only keeps all of the original's charm but breathes new life into the Mario RPG genre! Can be offered as a coop run or a race! Shoujo	Super "Sonic Saves the World" World	Super "Sonic Saves the World" World is a Super Mario World hack created by Maddy Thorson. It features 21 completely unique and custom levels that show off incredibly difficult tricks and amazing custom mechanics. Additionally, Maddy worked very hard to give each level its own charm, providing a humorous and satisfying experience to players and viewers alike. The any% category skips "Celeste (2018)" and the second half of the final castle, bringing down the estimate by about 20 minutes.	Status: Accept Abridged% 0:45:00			SNES
Bubzia	Super Mario 64 Randomizer	Randomizers like the SM64 one are essential in the world of speedrunning these days. For the first time in world history, it is also possible to play the randomizer blindfolded, through a similar ruleset like in blindfolded Rubik’s cube. We learn a random seed with eyes, create strategies and routes during the speedrun, and finally collect 10 memorized stars while blindfolded. GTAce	Super Mario Bros.	The Any% run of Super Mario Bros. hasn't been shown off at GDQ in a long time, and has come so far since its last appearance. Top runners today have amazing consistency in marathon/race situations, and I'm confident I could crank out a run in under 5 minutes live on the stage. This is a feat that has never been done before at GDQ. Even if a mistake is made, I could instead go for some of the sick frame-perfect tricks and show off, while still not being even a minute slower.	Status: Accept Any% 00:06:00			NES

Jaxler	Stuart Little 2	aka Stuart Little and the Secret Rings aka "we have Super Mario 64 at home". This is a PS1 collectathon with hilariously bad voice lines, horrid vehicle sections, and way more speedtech than a game like this deserves to have. With both Any% and 100% being showcased at GDQ Hotfix's Awfully Silly and Do All The Things (respectively), this game is a certified meme-fiesta and would make a great addition to SGDQ's Silly Block. LifeL1ke	Star Wars: The Force Unleashed	This is the PC/X360/PS3 version, which is distinct from the PS2/Wii/Switch version, the DS version, and the iOS/Ngage version. Any%: 1. Darth Vader hops like a bunny to kidnap a child. 2. ??? skips 90% of the game. 3. Grown up child attacks Death Star and kills Vader. 4. Profit. Sathdresh	Star Trek DS9: Crossroads of Time	Follow Captain Sisko as he leaps his way to victory in this deviously underrated title from Novotrade. The music alone should warrant a GDQ appearance. The platforming is extremely deceptive and it's action packed through out the whole run. This would be a fun showcase for GDQ! Rubberduckyassassin	Spyro 2: Season of Flame	There has been an abduction of the Dragon Realm's fireflies at the hands of a mysterious (Ripto) foe, causing the dragons to lose their ability to breathe fire. With help from his friends and a man with a GameCube controller, Spyro must recover fireflies and uncover the culprit behind the theft (Ripto). In this fast-paced 2.5D platformer will be pulling off all kinds of tight jumps, turns, and tricks.in the vast assortment of stages this game has to offer. All Journal Entries has been a fan favorite for Spelunky enthusiasts for years, and with a new exploit to skip directly into Hell, it's better than ever to showcase at a major speedrun marathon. Pearstrike	Kirby Air Ride	Submitting Air Ride All Tracks as a race with 1Davidj. It's been 8 years since this category was shown off at a GDQ. Since then we've incorporated a lot of little optimizations which make the run look even faster and more hectic. Go with David for just a solo run. Top Ride All Tracks is a run that's all about movement. It's more like a traditional kart racer run with tight routes and lines. We also take advantage of the non-random item drops to speed up. That + glass cannon gear + every attack upgrade + ROCKET BOOTS turns Kiryu into an absolute monster. This run primarily uses Wheelie Scooter, which uses several intended and unintended tricks for huge speed. Among these are a cool feature of Time Attack, where killing enemies grants a significant speed boost, resulting in unique-per-lap routing to kill enemies. In that time, there have been 2 big changes made to the run: First, is that we now play on Nintendo Switch, which saves around 22.5s over the previous fastest version in loading times alone. Second, there is now a full-game RNG manipulation that makes the run over a minute faster. There is so much new stuff to explain, and I would love to show it off! This run has never been showcased at a GDQ event before and combines a unique visual aesthetic combined with fleshed out strats. Few know of this limited arcade remake release of the original Konami classic, and those who do know of it know of its brutally unfair difficult. I will be submitting this run for play of the Arcade Archives version on the Playstation 4, and though the submission video is an emulated run, there are no gameplay differences. Tonkotsu	Donkey Kong Country 3	Donkey Kong Country 3 for the GBA is an enhanced remake of the SNES classic featuring a full new world on top of the SNES version. While the original is relatively glitch free, the GBA remake is packed with major glitches, especially in the new world Pacifica. Glitches include out of bound clips, a frame perfect zip and a frame perfect timestop mechanic that allows us to warp within levels. This and more makes DKC3 GBA a great showcase! ZELLLOOO	Doom 64 (2020)	Doomguy hasn't had enough beating demons over the head with a chainsaw at GDQs so let's dive into Hell one more time, 64's unique map design with its modifications to the Doom engine makes for a very intense set of fights on Watch Me Die difficulty and many core Doom speedrunning mechanics still apply such as linedef skipping triggers and efficient straferunning. The speedrun offers unique tricks such as zoom climbs, similar to an infinite jump glitch, as well as chain-shot setups, which are a mechanic of the game that runners use to neutralize bosses in several "blink and you'll miss it" moments. Uncle Slam	Dodo Peak	Q*Bert + Frogger + Extinct birbs In Dodo Peak, you play as a mother dodo who tries to get all her babies back to their home. With every baby you collect per level, your hitbox gets longer, meaning each level gets more dangerous the more progress you make. Cycles can be manipulated to our advantage by immediately resetting certain levels, and eating speed power-ups, while faster, requires MUCH tighter movement, resulting in a high skill ceiling which is a delight to see in action. Metroid Crime	Curse Crackers: For Whom the Belle Toils	Curse Crackers: For Whom the Belle Toils (2022) is a 2D platformer heavily inspired by the Game Boy Color era, created by indie developer Colorgrave. We jump, bounce, and vault our way through the magical world of Ledamra as Belle the acrobat and Chime the living bell! In this category we play as Belle! We use a passcode to unlock a DOUBLE JUMP and then proceed to platform through the world, collecting a total of 30 roses to unlock the final area. The end of the game is boss-fight heavy. Raelcun	Crimzon Clover: World EXplosion	Crimzon Clover is one of the highest regarded indie published shmups of all time. With the newer World Explosion release it includes a new arrange mode that replaces the hyper meter with a gradius style power up meter. This submission is not a speedrun it is an attempt at 1cc while showing off high scoring showcases. McHooper	Crash Nitro Kart	Crash Nitro Kart is the second game in the Crash Bandicoot racing series, and while not as popular as Crash Team Racing, it does have its own unique exploits and skips to take advantage of during the run. The run features tons of track exploits and shortcuts to cut down on time, multiple playable characters and even a completely unusable glitch that can be shown at the end of the run. Designed to be very hard versions of the base game chapters, Monika's D-Sides foregoes chocolate mechanics and gameplay variants for pure platforming reminiscent of kaizo design philosophies. It's a friggin marble game, it's got a monkey in a ball (like monkey ball) who makes monkey sounds no less, and if I mess up, the game plays funny sounds. Also, this game has big schmoovement and I can use that to be a little wiener and skip chunks of the levels, along with using powerups in wrong and forbidden ways. LivelyRaccoon	Bomberman 64	Bomberman 64 is a game all about solving your problems with bombs. This game has a lot of neat bomb jumps and tech. The 100% category collects all gold cards and costume pieces and goes to the secret last world. 100% has a lot of exclusive tricks and thoughtful routing due to needing 30 enemy kills a level. Kirthar	Blazing Chrome	Blazing Chrome is a run 'n gun type of game made with inspiration from classics such as Contra and Metal Slug. Just like in those games, you die in one hit and can lose your equipped weapon and power-ups, so deaths can be very punishing in this butt-clenching speedrun. Arcade Mode is the story mode of this game, so this is basically just Any%. It's played on the Normal difficulty, and we play as a Gun character which is your standard run 'n gun character. This incredible buff allows for even the strongest-looking bosses to be eviscerated in mere seconds; although it may seem incomprehensibly fast, all fights are neatly comprised of a few staple attacks used in regularly unique strings. Dynomation	Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore	Its the new game based heavily on the original Zelda CDi games (Faces of Evil/Wand of Gamelon), featuring voice actors from the original games.This is a very new game coming out in Feb 2024, and the small community of runners has been routing hard since. Its a simple platformer with some pretty tight jumps (2-3 frames) and control, and some tricky mechanics to move and kill enemies and bosses faster. kurushiidrive	Afterimage	The aim is to achieve the good ending of the main character through a very fast-paced, nonstop action run, acquiring progression and items needed before culminating in a set of two final bosses which must be defeated in consecutive fashion. After which, the ending known as "The Essential" (1 of 10 endings) is attained. As it has yet to have a GDQ appearance, having this run would be a great opportunity at showcasing a well-made metroidvania with mechanics that pair excellently for speedrunning.
